• Wolves as an ecological & economic asset

Northern Manitoba is a pristine wilderness area with few people and unknown number of wolves that prey on moose, caribou, and sporadically on polar bear cubs along the coast of Hudson Bay.

Proposed new roads, mines, hydro dams, and electrical corridors will change the ecosystem forever. What research should happen before irreversible changes occur? Can Manitoba shape best wolf management policies? Can Aboriginal traditional knowledge provide direction?

Wolf science, research, conservation, ecotourism and more will be discussed. Dialogue with some of the top wolf and polar bear experts in Canada, USA and Russia.
